HISTORY
Hamiza a word from one of the local dialects means being firm, persistent, grounded, consistent and it also means giving facts and hope. Hamiza Development Foundation is looking at addressing the challenges vulnerable people such as women and girls, boys and men, youth, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), refugees, smallholder farmers face. The need to work on these challenges is informed by the inequalities and injustices these vulnerable groups continue to face in Uganda. Therefore, empowering them will require persistent, grounded, and consistent approaches that Hamiza Development Foundation [HDF] seeks to apply. HDF was born in 2020 out of the need to address the negative impact that Covid-19 pandemic had on the already vulnerable groups in Uganda. Generally, Hamiza Development Foundation seeks to restore hope of these vulnerable groups by giving them confidence, knowledge, and skills they need to take charge of their lives and contribute meaningfully to the development of Uganda.
